The art club allows students the opportunity to create artwork beyond the regular art curriculum. Because of the club setting, student work can be more personal and individualized than work done in art class. The club also provides an outlet for students who want to create art throughout the school year. The setting will be informal and students do not need to attend every meeting date in order to join.

Chorale is a select vocal ensemble that performs at the Winter and Spring Concerts, Choralfest, and any other venues deemed educationally worthy by the Director during the school year. Students do not need to be in Chorus to be in Chorale, but participation in Chorus or Band is strongly encouraged. Literature will consist of music pulled from across the spectrum of choral literature with an emphasis on advanced a cappella repertoire.

College Bowl is an activity for students to test their knowledge, gain new knowledge, work on teamwork and most importantly, have fun. Students engage in competitive contests during practive and in 3 official competitions (2 online that we've already signed on for and the famous National Geography Bee). The meetings for College Bowl are held every other Monday beginning 9/24/18 from 2:30-3:15 in room 221. (Meetings alternate Mondays with College Bowl)

This program allows motivated students an opportunity to pursue a topic of interest in great depth, create a unique project to be entered in the District Competition in March, hone critical thinking & source evaluation skills, work with highly successful high school mentors, and most importantly have a ton of fun. The meetings for prospective History Fair participants begin on Monday 9/17/15 and are held every other Monday from 2:20-3:00 in room 221. (Meetings alternate Mondays with College Bowl)

Jazz Band performs at the Winter and Spring Concerts as well as any other venues deemed educationally worthy by the Director during the school year. The repertoire will consist of music pulled from across the spectrum of jazz with an emphasis on swing and some improvisation.

Thursday 2:30-3:25 Room 202 in the HIGH SCHOOL
The math team is composed of students from 6-8 grade. It is open to all interested students. Throughout the school year, the team competes in five math meets with other middle schools from the North Shore. For four of the meets, the team travels to a host school. Students return to Miles River Middle School by 6 pm. Between meets, the team gathers to practice math problems to prepare for the next meet.

If you play guitar or another string instrument and would like to have fun playing music with other people come join the Miles River Guitar Fun! Club. All grades and students of all levels are welcome to join! If you don't have a guitar or want to leave yours at home there are 25 acoustic guitars at school. Annually, Miles River Middle School participates in the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild’s One Act Play Festival. Miles River offers a playwriting workshop open to 20 students who will write, develop, design, produce, and perform their original work for competition at this year’s festival. Further details about auditions will be announced this January!

Our annual production is an opportunity for singing, dancing, acting, and production for students at any grade level. This year our musical will be Peter Pan.
